In science we have been learning about states of matters. The three states of mater is solid, liquid and gas. Solids have a shape and volume, Liquids definte volume, but take the shape of the container. Gases have no defnite shape or volume.
Yesterday we got to do an expirement with dried ice and we put it in water, with dishwashing liquid and there was bubbles going up the cup and if you were to touch it then it would steam up. It started off with a solid and turned into gas it is called sublimation, it went from super cold to warmer.
Freezing changing from a liquid to a solid. Vaporisation changing from liquid to gas. Condensation changing from gas to a liquid and despostion changing from gas to a solid. Liquid particles move more than solid.
When the solid changes to liquid and the liquid changes to gas, it is giving heat energy and when it is going in the opposite way, it is taking heat energy away instead of giving it.
